  ( is the number one hub for the U.S. channel, providing the most important news and analysis affecting the reseller, distributor and vendor industries.  We are seeking a fast-learning, hard-working, imaginative reporter to join a two-strong team on Incisive Media’s growing site for the channel sector of the technology market. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years’ experience in journalism. Knowledge of the sector is not essential, but a passion for business and building communities of professional readers is. Incisive Media prides itself on being able to develop editorial talent, with formal training as required, and support from senior executives. The company looks, where possible, to promote from within, and helps individuals build their careers. This is, therefore, an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious journalist to develop their skills, work autonomously and take on new responsibilities.

    What you will be doing


    • Able to produce two to three news articles per day, and one or two longer pieces (analysis/features/long-form) per week, alongside ongoing editorial projects – meeting tight deadlines
    • Take on regular weekly/fortnightly/monthly/quarterly projects, in line with the editor’s instructions
    • Manage the site in the editor’s absence
    • Edit copy (all written in American English)
    • Sub-edit edited copy
    • Write in house style, with no exceptions
    • Attend conferences and other events across the U.S. (and occasionally beyond)
    • Generate news and other original articles from conference sessions
    • Meet very high-level executives at conferences (run by vendors, Channelnomics itself and others) and generate stories from those meetings
    • Set up regular calls with channel chiefs and other contacts (e.g. managed service providers, analysts, resellers) to generate news and analysis
    • Quickly develop industry knowledge and contacts
    • Work with the editor on commercial projects – e.g. sponsored research reports, audio and video webinars – and special editorial projects
    • Work independently on commercial projects
    • Moderate panels at Channelnomics conferences – and, in time, host entire events

    What we value

    Working Knowledge of business journlism. Specific knowledge of the channel sector is desirable but not essential. An understanding of the impact of technology on businesses in the sector would be an advantage.


    Essential skills/requirements:

    • Excellent grasp of written English and a passion for writing accurately and without mistakes
    • Flawless grammar and punctuation
    • Ability to produce high-quality news and analysis stories that can be published with minimal editing
    • Ability to write quickly and accurately to deadlines 
    • Ability to take feedback constructively and apply it accordingly
